The Legion of Honour is the highest order of merit in France. The Holberg Prize give its wamest congratulations! Julia Kristeva is the first Holberg Prize laureate. She visited the University of Bergen again last November 2014 when she gave a lecture, New Forms of Revolt, in the Holberg Prize lecture series, organized in connection with the celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Holberg Prize.

Julia Kristeva (1941-) is currently director of the Sciences des textes et documents Department at the University of Paris 7 (Jussieu), and is also a practising psychoanalyst.
