The Board of the Holberg Prize

The Board of the Holberg Prize is responsible for all activities and events related to the Holberg Prize and awards the prizes at the recommendation of the Academic Committees.

The Board appoints members to the Academic Committees and is responsible for ensuring that other objectives are met in accordance with the statutes for the Holberg Prize.

Appointment of Board Members

The University of Bergen appoints the Board of the Holberg Prize. The Board consists of the Chair of the Board and five Board Members nominated by universities and academies in Norway. The Board Members represent different institutions, and at least one member must work outside the university and university college sector.

Board Members are appointed for a period of four years and may be reappointed once. The government regulations concerning gender representation apply to the appointment of board members.
