The Holberg Prize

The Holberg Prize is awarded annually to scholars who have made outstanding contributions to research in the humanities, social sciences, law or theology.

The deadline for nominating a candidate to the Holberg Prize is 15 June each year. Scholars holding positions at universities, academies and other research institutions, are entitled to nominate candidates for the Holberg Prize. The Laureate is announced in March and the Award Ceremony is held in June, at the University of Bergen, Norway.

The Nils Klim Prize

The Nils Klim Prize is awarded annually to a scholar under the age of 40, from or in a Nordic country, for outstanding contributions to research in the humanities, social sciences, law or theology.

The deadline for nominating a candidate to the Nils Klim Prize is 15 June each year. Scholars holding positions at universities, academies and other research institutions, are entitled to nominate candidates. The Laureate is announced in March and the Award Ceremony is held in June, at the University of Bergen, Norway.

The Holberg School Programme

A research competition in for students in the upper secondary schools in Norway aiming to increase the interest in the humanities and social sciences. 

Each year, students from selected schools are invited to carry out self-chosen research projects in cooperation with experienced scholars who help develop the projects.
