In the 2024 Holberg Conversation, Holberg Prize Laureate Achille Mbembe is interviewed by Kari Jegerstedt, head of Centre for Women’s and Gender Research, University of Bergen.

The 2024 Holberg Prize was awarded to Cameroonian scholar Achille Mbembe for his groundbreaking work in the fields of history and political theory. Mbembe is a Research Professor of History and Politics at Wits Institute for Social and Economic Research, University of Witwatersrand. He is also Director of the Innovation Foundation for Democracy, a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and a Fellow of the British Academy. Here, he is interviewed by Kari Jegerstedt, Associate Professor of Gender Studies and Head of the Centre for Women’s and Gender Research at the University of Bergen.
