Anders Iversen Feiring from Blindern Upper Secondary School in Oslo came on third Place in the 2023 Holberg School Programme with his research Project ‘Health Economists’ Ranking of Disease Prestige’.

Feiring’s project addresses health economists’ criteria in their ranking of diseases, and whether or not healthcare professionals and health economists rank the prestige of diseases differently. The factors discussed are the age of the patient, prevalence, costs to society, treatment efficacy, severity, cure vs. care, media coverage, research, and women’s health. One of the differences uncovered is the fact that health professionals do not value economic costs to society as strongly as health economists.
